Eckhart Construction began in 1988 in the suburbs of Chicago shortly after the development of the Segmental Block Retaining wall Industry. During the first couple years, our projects consisted of primarily residential applications. We did complete a few small commercial projects during this time, but the construction industry as a whole was not aware of the benefits and possibilities of a Segmental Block Retaining Wall, nor were we! This is the time that we developed the processes and techniques for a successful Segmental Block Retaining Wall installation. We soon caught the attention of, and found ourselves partnering with, the inventors and the engineers that would take this newly formed tiny industry and explode it across the world. Our projects and applications rapidly grew in size and function. During our 4th year, Eckhart Construction was awarded 3 separate design build contracts for the Illinois State Tollway Authority totaling over 150,000 square feet. Eckhart was successfully completing projects throughout the Midwest and SouthEast and eventually consolidated it’s headquarters to Charlotte, NC where we currently call home.

Eckhart can offer solutions for most grade separation issues through our extensive experience with MSE Panel Walls, Reinforced Steep Slopes, Gabion Basket Walls, Soil Nail and H Pile Veneers, Big Block Gravity Walls, Pressure Relief Walls and of course, Segmental Block Retaining Walls.
